ending the year 2010!!!

It happens to be the perfect timing to end the year with my last post on the final assignments that made the blog cut..  I had so much fun working on concepts for an original company with so much story!! Im including some ads I did for Dixon Landing Music and some t-shirt designs that may or may not make it to production. They're just variations of what was submitted.

If your interested in rock n roll and the blues you will love their music!! Here's the link to Alex Dixon's new cd (album art by me)

Some wiki- info on Alex's grandfather
William James "Willie" Dixon (July 1, 1915 – January 29, 1992) was an American blues musician, vocalist, songwriter, arranger and record producer.[1] A Grammy Award winner who was proficient on both the Upright bass and the guitar, as well as his own singing voice, Dixon is arguably best known as an acclaimed, prolific songwriter, and one of the founders of the Chicago blues sound. His songs have been recorded not only by himself, or that of the trio and other ensembles in which he participated, but an uncounted number of musicians representing many genres between them. A short list of his most famous compositions include "Little Red Rooster", "Hoochie Coochie Man", "Evil", "Spoonful", "Back Door Man", "I Just Want to Make Love to You", "I Ain't Superstitious", "My Babe", "Wang Dang Doodle", and "Bring It On Home". They were written during the peak of Chess Records, 1950–1965, and performed by Muddy WatersHowlin' Wolf, and Little Walter, influencing a worldwide generation of musicians.[2] Next to Muddy Waters, he was the most influential person in shaping the post World War II sound of the Chicago blues.[3] He also was an important link between the blues and rock and roll, working with Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley in the late 1950s. His songs were covered by some of the biggest artists of more recent times, including Bob DylanCreamJimi Hendrix,Led ZeppelinFoghatThe YardbirdsThe Rolling StonesQueenMegadethThe DoorsThe Allman Brothers BandGrateful Dead,[3] and a posthumous duet with Colin James.

Incredible!!! Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon and Beyonce Knowles as Etta James play in the movie Cadillac Records(2008) which chronicles the rise of Chess Records. The studio is now called Willie Dixon's Blues Heaven Foundation located in Chicago, Illinois.
